Receiving the EUCOR Cross-border Education Grant allowed Lilla Lovasz to organize a joint field course for undergraduate students from both the University of Basel and the University of Strasbourg. The students explored field methods and gained hands-on data-collection experience and analysis techniques in conservation ecology, while also having the chance to encounter the wild-living Konik horses, the ecosystem engineers of the Rhine Island. Many thanks for the financial support for the EUCOR European Campus and for the long-term collaboration for Dr Cybill Staentzel and Prof Dr Jean-Nicolas Beisel from the University of Strasbourg – ENGEES.
